Common Securitization Solutions (CSS) is a United States-based company dedicated to the design, build, and operation of a new, common securitization platform for the housing finance system. It was founded in 2013 as a joint venture by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The goal of CSS is to create a more efficient and transparent secondary mortgage market by standardizing securitization practices across the industry. CSS accomplishes this by utilizing modern technology and implementing best practices from private sector businesses. Its mission is to strengthen the stability and resilience of the US housing finance system by providing a common platform for securitizing mortgage loans.
