The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) is a non-profit organization that represents employers of the West Coast ports of the United States. Founded in 1949, PMA counts among its members more than 70 shipping lines, terminal operators, and stevedores. The organization negotiates contracts with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and provides programs and services to its members, including labor relations, government affairs, and industry-related research. PMA is committed to providing its members with competitive port operations and infrastructure to ensure the continued growth and success of the West Coast ports. The association has its headquarters in San Francisco, California.
