Established in 1852, the district operates 27 schools serving approximately 15,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12th. It is bounded by San Francisco Bay on the north, Stevens Creek Boulevard on the south, the city limits of Cupertino and Sunnyvale on the west, and the cities of San Jose and Milpitas on the east.
