The Texas Rangers Baseball Club is a professional baseball team based in Arlington, Texas. They are members of the American League (AL) West division in Major League Baseball (MLB). Founded in 1961 as the second Washington Senators franchise, the team moved to Arlington in 1972 and has been known as the Texas Rangers ever since. The team made its first postseason appearance in 1996 and has won two American League pennants (2010, 2011) but has yet to win a World Series championship. The Rangers play their home games at Globe Life Field and are owned by Ray Davis and Bob Simpson.
