About this role

Amuse Animation is an international animation studio founded in 2015 and headquartered in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a growing presence in France and China.

We create and develop original IPs and provide high-quality 2D and 3D animation services, combining creativity, technology and an audience-driven approach to reach audiences worldwide.


We are looking for several 2D Riggers to join our team in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.


YOUR ROLE

As a Mid 2D Rigger, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining production-ready character rigs, working with a high degree of autonomy and collaborating closely with Animators, Vector Artists and the wider production team. You will:


  • Build production-ready 2D character rigs, including controls, deformers, hierarchies and constraints.
  • Create flexible, intuitive and animator-friendly rigs that meet production requirements.
  • Work closely with Vector Artists and Animators to ensure assets are properly prepared for rigging and animation.
  • Test, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deformation, controls, hierarchies and rig performance.
  • Implement feedback from Rigging Leads, Supervisors and Animators.
  • Optimize rigs for stability, performance and ease of use within the production pipeline.
  • Contribute to improving rigging workflows, templates and technical standards.
  • Manage priorities and deliver work according to production deadlines.


ARTISTIC & TECHNICAL

  • Strong understanding of 2D rigging principles, deformation and character setup.
  • Good understanding of animation principles and animator workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony or equivalent 2D rigging software.
  • Ability to create clean, efficient and intuitive animator-friendly rigs.
  • Good understanding of hierarchies, constraints, deformers and controls.
  • Ability to independently identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Understanding of vector artwork and how asset construction impacts rigging.
  • Good understanding of 2D animation pipelines and production requirements.


COLLABORATION

  • Collaborate closely with Vector, Animation, Art and Production teams.
  • Work directly with Animators to understand and resolve rigging issues.
  • Communicate technical limitations clearly and propose practical solutions.
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to workflow improvements.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in 2D rigging or related animation roles.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating production-ready character rigs.
  • Professional experience within a 2D animation production pipeline.
  • Ability to work independently on complex rigs and technical challenges.
  • Strong understanding of animator needs and production constraints.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus.
