About this role
We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to assist in managing the day-to-day accounting and finance requirements for two start-up businesses, a Real Estate Development Firm and a Property Management Company, both with great advancing opportunities. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.Â
In order to succeed in this role, the Bookkeeper needs excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate across multiples roles in the organizations.  Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role is required.Â
Job Responsibilities:Â Â
- Balance and maintain accurate ledgersÂ
- Match purchase orders with invoicesÂ
- Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to managementÂ
- Work with Project Coordinator to prepare lender draw requests and other bookkeeping and accounting functionsÂ
- Prepare project spending reports Â
- Gather and review pay applications for vendorsÂ
- Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receiptsÂ
- Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balancesÂ
- Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheetsÂ
- Manage payroll, operating and business taxÂ
- Assist Project Coordinator and Project Superintendent with packaging and sending project RFP’sÂ

Required Experience:Â
- Years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and payrollÂ
- Proficiency in Quickbooks or Xero accounting softwareÂ
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesÂ
- Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operationÂ
- Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxesÂ
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computationsÂ
This is a full time role
