About this role

Reports to the Manager of Finance

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team on a full-time, twelve-fifteen-month contract. In this role, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and assisting with general accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record financial transactions such as invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies
  • Maintain and update accounting records and filing systems
  • Prepare and enter data into accounting software
  • Verify accuracy of financial documents and correct errors
  • day-to-day cash-handling from all SRC-administered sources and accounts

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Math and data entry skills
  • Communication and problem-solving abilities
  • familiarity with aspects of municipal, provincial and federal taxation and fees affecting the corporation, including regulatory compliance, the preparation and execution of forms, and the maintenance of records
  • Ability to work independently

Education and Experience

  • Previous work in accounting and finance
  • A business or accounting diploma/degree
  • Previous experience with Point-of-Sale systems
