Adjudicator's Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent provides administrative support to Benefit Adjudicators

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Logging all incoming correspondence into the department.
2.  Logging Admed Claims on Data Base and on Iseries. Ensure that all relevant forms and supporting documents are received and completed correctly; date stamping of all documents and return if all requirements are not received.
3.  Admed Exclusions. Obtain Admed Exclusion data from New Business that are to be entered on the Admed Database and enter message on I5 Series.
4.  Retrieving of claim files for adjudicators; filing claim files; coordination of files for scanning.
5. Validation of Cheques and preparation for the cheque signatories
6. Filing cheque payment vouchers, transmittals and receipts
7. ACH Payments - Prepare ACH payments for Clients, legal representatives and Medical Institutions. Sending out ACH claim summary to Medical Institutions.
8.  Pre-claim advisory service (62-ADMED)
9. Handles telephone queries from clients, agents and hospitals concerning Admed including, Claims procedures & requirements, Benefit Limits, Approved doctors & Medical Facilities.  

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with special projects
2. Provide support to the Team Leader

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum 5 CSEC passes inclusive of Grade 1 or 2  in Mathematics and English A and

6 CAPE passes (full certificate) or an equivalent diploma or professional certificate. 

Experience

At least one (1) year experience in a similar administrative or customer service role 

Insurance industry experience would be an asset.
