We are seeking an experienced Admission Coordinator I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infusion therapy intake, excellent communication skills, and the ability to serve as a resource for both internal teams and referral sources. This role involves managing the full admission process, coordinating services, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform all duties of Admission Coordinator I with added responsibilities.- Serve as a resource for infusion therapy, enteral therapy, durable medical equipment, and associated services.- Initiate and coordinate patient admissions, ensuring timely collection and entry of referral data into CPR+.- Verify insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and manage benefit checks.- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and outside agencies to facilitate seamless patient transitions.- Coordinate start of care with referral sources, patients, pharmacy, nursing, and delivery teams.- Manage documentation such as Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), Statements of Medical Necessity (SMNs), and Detailed Written Orders (DWOs).- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities.- Negotiate payment rates with insurance agencies and maintain knowledge of revenue and reimbursement processes.- Act as an educational resource regarding product lines and payer coverage.- Maintain current knowledge of local insurance providers, indigent care sources, and reimbursement policies.- Perform data entry with high accuracy, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patient admission and intake processes.

Job Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in infusion intake or related healthcare roles.- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and prior authorizations.- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.- Proficient in computer skills, including typing and data entry.- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.- Preferred: Experience in home infusion intake, knowledge of government and commercial insurance payor coverage.
