Job Description
The Senior Agronomy Coordinator will provide strategic and operational leadership to agronomy programs within the Kenyacof supply chain, acting as a key technical liaison between coffee estates, cooperatives and sustainability partners. The role is responsible for driving productivity, quality, compliance, and regenerative agriculture adoption across large coffee estates and smallholder supply chains.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Â
Project Supervision, Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementÂ
Oversee the implementation of sustainability-project activities across 60,000+ farmersÂ
Lead field planning and scheduling while ensuring operational excellence and qualityÂ
Coordinate and consolidate data collection from field teamsÂ
Manage operational budgets and expense tracking for project activitiesÂ
Team Leadership & Capacity Building Â
Lead, mentor, manage and inspire field extension teams and agronomy technicians including the Soil scientistÂ
Set clear performance objectives and support professional development of team membersÂ
Build technical capacity through structured training programs and on-farm demonstrationsÂ
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and farmer-centric service deliveryÂ
Coffee Agronomy and Regenerative AgricultureÂ
Lead the design and implementation of agronomic programs (coffee husbandry, soil fertility, rejuvenation protocols, IPM, and yield optimization) aligned with Kenyan coffee production systems.Â
Oversee the implementation of agronomic trials in approved demo plots Â
Drive the adoption of Regen Ag practicesÂ
- Support climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives including carbon reduction and resilience-building interventions.
Compliance &Â Certification SupportÂ
Â
Support the Certification Coordinator in the implementation of compliance standardsÂ
Support in the coordination of internal audits, external audits and corrective action plansÂ
Train field teams and farm management on certification standards and compliance requirementsÂ
Qualifications
Bachelor’ degree in Agronomy, Crop science, Agriculture and Environmental Science.
5+ years work experience working in the Kenyan agricultural sector. Coffee experience will be considered an added advantage. Â
