Project Details:

  • Position: API 510 Inspector
  • Open Positions: Multiple
  • Location: Edmonton, Alberta
  • Primary Focus: Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, and Pressure Equipment
  • Start Date: September 7, 2026
  • Expected Duration: Through approximately the first week of October 2026
  • Rotation: 6 days on / 1 day off (6-1)
  • Schedule: Approximately 10-hour shifts during the first week, transitioning to 12-hour shifts as turnaround activities increase.
  • Orientation: Required online orientations must be completed prior to mobilization, with applicable site orientation upon arrival.
  • Coveralls: Unbranded coveralls are preferred. Candidates without unbranded coveralls should provide their coverall size.


Compensation:

  • Contractor (DSP): CAD $85.00 to CAD$90.00 per hour (Flat)
  • Employee: CAD $70.00 to CAD $75.00 per hour + OT
  • Opportunity for additional turnaround, inspection, and technical projects with Engrity Group Inc.

Requirements:

  • Valid API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector certification.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as an API Inspector, Pressure Equipment Inspector, or QC Inspector.
  • Previous turnaround/shutdown experience in an oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience inspecting heat exchangers and pressure equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable API, ASME, CSA, ABSA, and project-specific codes, standards, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, specifications, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
  • Experience reviewing NDT/NDE reports and coordinating inspection activities with NDT personnel.
  • AWS or CWB Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is an asset but is not mandatory.
  • ISI experience or certification is an asset but is not mandatory.
  • Valid CSTS 2020 or applicable site-required safety orientation.
  • Valid H2S Alive certification.
  • Valid Confined Space certification.
  • Valid Fall Protection/Fall Arrest certification.
  • EWP certification is an asset and may be required depending on site requirements.
  • Other safety tickets and site-specific training will be communicated during onboarding as required.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven turnaround environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work the 6-1 rotation and extended shifts.



Scope of Work / Responsibilities:

  • Perform API 510 inspection activities for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and associated pressure equipment in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, inspection procedures, ITPs, legislation, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Perform field inspection and equipment walkdowns during turnaround activities.
  • Inspect equipment for mechanical integrity, damage, deterioration, corrosion, defects, and other conditions requiring assessment or corrective action.
  • Review equipment inspection records, previous inspection reports, drawings, specifications, and other applicable technical documentation.
  • Review and verify applicable NDT/NDE results and inspection documentation.
  • Verify inspection findings and ensure deficiencies are properly identified, documented, and communicated.
  • Verify repairs and repair activities where applicable and confirm that inspection requirements have been satisfied.
  • Maintain complete and accurate API 510 inspection records as required by applicable legislation, regulations, codes, project specifications, and client requirements.
  • Maintain daily inspection records and submit required documentation within established project timelines.
  • Complete inspection reports accurately and submit them to the client/company on time.
  • Perform quality control of API 510 inspection activities as required by the scope of work and client requirements.
  • Assist the Company with applicable ABSA integrity program requirements and documentation where required.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, engineering, NDT personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders as required.
  • Provide inspection services in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are completed in accordance with applicable API, ASME, CSA, ABSA, Alberta legislation/regulations, and client/project requirements.
  • Maintain all records required for quality control and inspection activities.
  • Abide by all applicable codes of conduct, legislation, regulations, Company policies, client requirements, and site procedures.
  • Comply with all Company and client health, safety, environmental, and site requirements.
  • Abide by all rules, procedures, and directions imposed by the Company and client for the orderly and safe completion of the work.
  • Support successful completion of the turnaround inspection scope within the required schedule.
