About the Role: 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Aquatic Supervisor to join our team at Otumoetai Pool. In this leadership role, you'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility while supporting a team of Lifeguards and Shift Leaders to deliver exceptional customer experiences in a safe and welcoming environment. The role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of facility presentation, water quality, operational compliance, and team performance. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to Lifeguards and Shift Leaders. 
  • Assisting with staff rostering and workforce coordination to meet operational requirements. 
  • Coordinating staff inductions, training sessions, and ongoing development to maintain operational excellence. 
  • Ensuring compliance with PoolSafe standards, water quality requirements, and Health & Safety legislation. 
  • Supporting administrative functions such as stock control, banking, invoicing, and asset management. 
  • Contributing to a positive team culture and delivering outstanding experiences for our community. 

You will also participate in an on-call roster and have opportunities to work across Bay Venues' aquatic network, broadening your experience and professional development. 


About You: 

We're looking for a people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about aquatic safety, customer service, and team development. You'll have strong communication and organisational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining high operational and safety standards. 


You'll bring: 

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in pool Lifeguarding 
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience. 
  • Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills. 
  • A proactive approach to Health & Safety and compliance. 
  • A current Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate, or willingness to obtain one with our support. 
  • A current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one with our support. 
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and living Bay Venues' values every day.  


Knowledge or experience in aquatic facilities, recreation, or customer-focused environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
