Job Description

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Melbourne Finance team. This opportunity is available on either a full-time (1.0 FTE) or part-time (0.8 FTE) basis.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our Australian, UK and US businesses.

This role will support a broad range of finance activities, including cash flow management, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, finance lease coordination, technology finance and reporting.

You’ll work closely with finance colleagues across our global studios, while partnering with the Technology team, external banking partners, suppliers, auditors and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial processes, strong internal controls and timely reporting across the Group.

What You’ll Do

  • Support cash flow activities across Australia, the UK and the US, including reconciliations, forecasts and payment runs.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable processes, including escalations, vendor bank detail checks, overdue invoices and supplier queries.
  • Oversee corporate credit card and expense activities, including AMEX transactions, D365 expense queries and cardholder administration.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed assets, prepayments, accruals and leases.
  • Coordinate intercompany reconciliations and prepare recharges and interest calculations.
  • Maintain HP finance lease records and support lease reviews, renewals and provider queries.
  • Support Technology finance activities, including purchase orders, invoice coding, budget queries and licence renewals.
  • Assist with compliance, reporting and audit requirements, including Payment Times Reporting and sustainability reporting.
  • Liaise with internal teams, banks, suppliers, leasing providers and auditors to resolve queries and support finance operations.

You'll be a proactive and organised finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Strong reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative approach with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • A growth mindset and a willingness to learn and grow.

Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel will be highly regarded.
