Assistant Accountant

Overview

This position supports Asia Region’s accounting and finance functions, contributing to the smooth operation of business activities and achievement of strategic objectives.  The position assists with general accounting and reporting tasks to ensure global and local statutory compliances. It also supports  financial planning and analysis activities, while helping maintain an effective internal control environment to safeguard assets and uphold the integrity of financial information.

Responsibilities

Statutory Reporting and Compliance

•  Assist in preparing annual financial statements and supporting audit processes for entities of all countries in the region.
• Support the Finance Manager in ensuring local GAAP financial reporting is accurate and timely.
• Support in compliance with local financial regulations and accounting standards, and  timely and accurate processing of tax-related documents, reconciliations and reports
• Responsible for providing and preparation of requested materials for internal and external audits.

Accounting

• Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations and completing accounting transactions up to financial statements for entities of all countries in the region.
• Responsible for completing month-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of monthly transactions, accruals and prepayments.
• Responsible for the reconciliation of all financial transactions ready for review by Finance & Operations Manager.
• Maintain  accurate accounting records and marketing fund management across regional entities to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and proper financial control.

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Support the Finance & Operations Manager with financial reporting, preliminary analysis, forecasting, and annual budgeting.

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Monitor compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and tax regulations.

Office and Regional Support

• Assist with daily office administration and support of marketing distributor operations across multiple countries.

Qualifications

• 4+ years general accounting experience
• Strong experience in accounting operations, month-end close, and statutory financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of local GAAP, tax compliance, audit support, and internal controls in a multi-country environment.
• Detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, with effective communication skills for regional collaboration.
