Working within our Data Centres Market Sector, you will act as a key ambassador for the data centre community across Singapore and within AECOM globally. With proven experience delivering data centre projects for major technology clients, you will lead electrical engineering within multi-disciplinary teams and collaborate closely with our global Data Centre network.

Due to continued growth in our Technology / Data Centre Sector, we are seeking an experienced Associate Director - Mechanical Data Centre Design with a strong track record in project delivery. This role is central to strengthening AECOM’s position in the Hyperscale and Co-location markets and contributing to sector strategy and Thought Leadership.

  • Lead mechanical design delivery for data center projects, acting as a recognized technical expert and ensuring all outputs meet the needs of our diverse client base.
  • Drive project excellence by defining objectives and deliverables, organizing schedules and resources, applying strong engineering judgement, and ensuring consistent, high-quality standards across the Data Centre's Mechanical sector.
  • Strengthen client partnerships by fully understanding their business, organizational structure and culture, and proactively responding to their requirements and market changes.
  • Lead sector growth activities, including bid and proposal development, thought leadership contributions, and ensuring seamless, co-ordinated mechanical services delivery across the projects.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering projects within Data Centres and other Mission Critical environments, with strong client-facing credentials and a reputation for technical excellence.
  • Proven capability in work winning alongside strong commercial acumen, including the management of project teams, budgets, schedules and quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and engineering practices for Data Centers, including power distribution, resilience, redundancy, and overall interface with client technical requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively both internally and externally, and eligibility to obtain Baseline (or higher) AGSVA clearance.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, including a degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) certification, and registration or eligibility for registration (e.g., CPEng, NER), ideally complemented by Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with CIBSE or an equivalent institute.
