Job Description

Projects of Transformation

  • Develop, lead, and support plant automation projects across AMEA seed production sites-operating as part of Syngenta's globally connected engineering network-to increase manufacturing capacity, improve quality, and/or reduce manufacturing costs. Collaborate with regional and global engineering peers to align standards, share best practices, and leverage cross-regional expertise.
  • Work with vendors on selecting the right technology for today and the future.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to define scope of work on capital automation projects on short and medium terms.
  • Support the business cases (in collaboration with operational and transformation teams) on automation and OT/data related investments

Technical Support

  • Provide regional support to site LAN hardware for both OT and IT networks including documenting, maintaining, and defining VLANs to drive reliability and efficiency in network performance.
  • Work with automation vendors / consultants to develop, improve, and maintain site SCADA software and hardware (patches, version updates, etc).
  • Support development, implementation, and management of site control systems that need to comply to Cybersecurity standards.
  • Support basic training knowledge development in the production teams to raise overall OT knowledge.

Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance

  • Establish and implement automation system preventive maintenance practices across AMEA seed production sites.
  • Work with local maintenance teams in the processing sites to ensure regular preventive maintenance programs are followed on the site control systems & network.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; works within site / Country policies & procedures.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving

  • Troubleshoot automation system issues to determine root cause [electrical, software, or mechanical in nature].
  • Provide support on Root Cause Analysis process (RCA) with local maintenance teams.
  • Provide guidance and documentation on inspection, replacement, troubleshooting of automation, keeping accurate records of work performed.

Continuous Improvement Mindset

  • Drive continuous improvement to site SCADA reporting system aligning to global standard, to ensure data is collected and visible, allowing for data driven decisions.
  • Promotes reapplication culture across the region identifying, collecting, and implementing best practices and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

  • University degree (BS min. or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Min. 5 years of maintenance, OT automation systems, electrical systems, and/or project delivery experience in industry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT, OT, industrial processes and power distribution systems.
  • Capability to manage a project (project management skills) also across Countries.
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions, and finding answers that work.
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge (minimum green belt or master black belt) or equivalent knowledge to manage/optimize processes is a plus.
  • Languages: Local language + English (written, spoken) is a must.
