Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented BIM Designer specializing in Ports and Marine Structures to join our growing team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive Building Information Models for complex port and marine infrastructure projects. 

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for port facilities, marine structures, and related infrastructure using industry-standard software
  • Preparation of accurate 3D BIM models (LOD 200–400) for marine and structural works.
  • Drafting and extraction of 2D drawings, plans, sections, elevations, reinforcement details, schedules, and shop drawings from BIM models.
  • Preparation of material take-offs (MTOs) and quantity calculations directly from BIM models.
  • Rock volume calculations, dredging and reclamation quantity calculations, and cut-and-fill assessments using CAD/BIM models.
  • Development of 3D tie-in models between new and existing marine structures to identify clashes and ensure smooth construction interfaces.
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary BIM models and resolution of design clashes using Navisworks.
  • Perform clash detection and resolution to identify and mitigate design conflicts before construction
  • Create comprehensive technical drawings, schedules, and documentation from BIM models for
  • Maintain BIM standards, protocols, and best practices across all project deliverables
  • Prepare and present BIM models and visualizations to clients, consultants, and project teams
  • Support project teams with quantity takeoffs, material specifications, and construction sequencing analysis

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of coastal and marine structures, including breakwaters, revetments, beaches, seawalls, quay walls, etc.
  • Ability to interpret bathymetric and topographic survey data, seabed slopes, structural slopes, beach slopes, utility layouts, and existing infrastructure information.
  • Familiar with marine design levels including chart datum, tidal datums, dredge levels, reclamation levels, and finished platform levels.
  • Understanding of coordinate systems, UTM grids, control points, and georeferenced engineering drawings.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD or equivalent BIM software platforms
  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, port infrastructure design, and maritime construction standards
  • Demonstrated expertise in 3D modeling, visualization, and technical documentation
  • Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and model management on complex projects
  • Proficiency in creating construction documents and coordinating multidisciplinary design information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Familiarity with Middle Eastern maritime projects and regional construction practices (preferred)
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous BIM work on port, marine, or infrastructure projects
