About this role

Broadcast Channels Operator Team Leader

Auckland | On-site | Full time | Competitive pay & great perks

Lead a specialist broadcast operations team across Ladbrokes, neds and Trackside.

Why This Matters

At Entain, you’ll join a global sports betting, gaming and entertainment business behind well-known brands such as Ladbrokes and neds in Australia, and TAB, betcha, Trackside and Sport Nation in New Zealand. We’re an ambitious, customer-focused organisation where our talented people move fast, think boldly and create experiences that excite millions of customers.

This role sits at the centre of our broadcast operation, supporting the delivery of timely, accurate and engaging broadcast output within a 24/7 operation. You’ll lead a team of nine Broadcast Channels Operators while remaining hands-on in the daily coordination and operation of our channels.

From managing rosters and supporting team development to responding to live broadcast issues, you’ll help maintain the quality, consistency and reliability of our on-air product. It’s a role for a calm, practical and customer-focused leader who cares about getting the details right, supporting their team and keeping things running smoothly when the pressure is on.

Your Impact

As our BCO Team Leader, you’ll lead a specialist team and play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality broadcasts across Ladbrokes, neds and Trackside. You’ll strengthen team capability, improve operational consistency and help ensure reliable broadcast delivery across every shift.

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of nine Broadcast Channels Operators, building capability, confidence and accountability
  • Coordinate and participate in the operation of Ladbrokes, neds and Trackside broadcast channels
  • Create fair and effective rosters that support 24/7 coverage, sustainable working practices and legally compliant breaks
  • Work closely with Production, Directors, Scheduling, Master Control, external providers and other stakeholders to deliver seamless, accurate and reliable broadcasts

This is an Auckland-based, on-site role working an 80-hour fortnight. As our channels operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, rostered shifts will include a combination of days, overnights, weekends and public holidays.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a formal people-leadership role, including developing team capability and managing performance in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Relevant experience in live broadcasting, broadcast channel operations or a similar control room environment
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast workflows, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on timing, accuracy and presentation quality
  • Experience preparing and managing team rosters, shift coverage or leave arrangements
  • Experience developing and delivering training, procedures or operational documentation
  • A calm and collaborative approach, with the confidence to make timely decisions, provide clear feedback and hold people accountable when required

Nice to Have

These are a bonus, so if you don’t have them all, we’d still like to hear from you.

  • Experience rostering or managing coverage in a 24/7 or continuously operating environment
  • Knowledge of racing, sports broadcasting or wagering-related content
  • Experience using AI or other tools to improve workflows, training resources or operational documentation

What You’ll Gain

  • Impact: Help deliver the broadcast experience customers rely on across Ladbrokes, neds and Trackside
  • Leadership: Lead a specialist team while building your experience across coaching, performance, capability and workforce planning
  • Growth: Develop deeper expertise in live broadcast operations, quality assurance, reporting and continuous improvement
  • Exposure: Work closely with Production, Directors, Master Control, Scheduling, Betting, Marketing and external broadcast partners
  • People: Join a connected, hands-on team where shared standards, support and accountability drive performance
  • Perks: Enjoy competitive pay, retailer discounts, wellbeing support, personal days off, free breakfast and snacks, and a modern office with pool tables and sport on the TVs

There’s nothing like it.
