Job Title: Business Development Manager – Health

Job Purpose Summary:
Managing the overall performance and development of the Vanguard Risk Solutions “VRS” Health Department and Portfolio in order to achieve production and strategic goals.
Responsible for both new business development and the retention of existing accounts within VRS Health portfolio, as well as cross-selling other products offered by VRS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attainment of Health Dept production targets through both the development of new business and retention of existing clients
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company and group objectives.
- Oversee the Management of VRS Health Dept
- Member of VRS Senior Management Team responsible for execution of the company’s strategic plan and implementation of Board approved policies and directives
- New Business Development across the full range of Health products sold through VRS although with particular emphasis on medium to large sized groups.
- Retention of existing accounts, primarily medium to large sized groups.
- Cross-sell Property & Casualty insurance products referring relevant leads to appropriate colleagues in those business units.
- Participation in Health Insurance Industry forums and reporting findings to VRS Senior Management Team.
- Prepare & deliver presentations to existing and prospective clients as needed and be a positive ambassador for VRS in the community.
- Prepare monthly activity and production reports for the CEO.
- Provide quarterly Board report on Health Dept performance.
- Participate in marketing/sales/staff meetings as needed.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by CEO and/or Senior Manager, Operations
Education and/or Experience:
- Business or Finance related Bachelor’s Degree qualification
- Professional Insurance Qualification such as HCCI, HIA.
- Ten or more years health insurance experience with proven track record in new business development
Job Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent administration, management and organizational skills are necessary, while remaining sensitive and discrete with confidential information.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives with effective judgment in prioritizing, as well as successfully meeting deadlines.
- Ability to deliver high level presentations.
- Knowledge of Cayman Health Insurance Laws & Regulations desired but not essential.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
