Job Summary:

The Case Manager for Respondent Services serves as UMatter’s designated case manager for students who have been accused of violating a Title IX or Title VI policy. The incumbent provides case management, support, and accommodations for respondents as well as general case management for the student population at large.

Job Description:

  • Conducts individualized assessments to identify students' academic, personal, and social needs, developing tailored intervention plans to support their success and well-being.
  • Provides ongoing case management and support by monitoring student progress, coordinating campus and community resources, and advocating for necessary accommodations or services.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus partners to address student concerns, ensuring a holistic approach to student success and retention.
  • Serves as a primary contact for students in crisis or distress, offering guidance, referrals, and intervention strategies to promote stability and academic persistence.
  • Maintains detailed and confidential records of student interactions, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant regulations while facilitating seamless communication among support teams.
  • Leads prevention and outreach efforts by developing educational programs, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to promote student well-being and resilience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet with students to assess needs, provide referrals for campus and community resources, and offer guidance as they navigate the University of Mississippi system   
  • Interface with faculty, staff, and parents to share resources and to ensure issues related to students of concern are addressed adequately 
  • Respond to calls to the UMatter office, assessing a variety of situations to determine appropriate next steps 
  • Assist respondents in understanding the Title IX or Title VI process and their rights as a respondent 
  • Accompany respondents to meetings regarding their case, mediations, and/or hearings 
  • Maintain working relationships with Title IX and Title VI staff to coordinate accommodations and support for respondents 
  • Communicate with faculty to request academic accommodations on behalf of respondents 
  • Maintain case files within Maxient, documenting steps taken for each case 
  • Present to campus partners on UMatter’s services and responding to indicators of distress  
  • Assist with data collection and reporting  
  • Attend weekly 1:1 supervision, Case Review, and Behavioral Intervention Team meetings 
  • Serve in the Dean of Students after-hours, on-call rotation 
  • Attend meetings for the Dean of Students Community of Practice and Division of Student Affairs 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology is strongly preferred
  • Mental health license is strongly preferred
  • Cover letter is required for full consideration

Compensation:

$46,904.00 - $70,366.40
