Job Description

At Guzman y Gomez, we believe in authentic flavors and the power of food to bring people together. As a Shift Leader at GYG, you will play a pivotal role in shaping unforgettable dining experiences. Your role will see you leading, coaching and motivating the team to enhance the guest experience while upholding the highest food safety and quality standards, ensuring every guest receives the best. Your leadership will set the tone for operational excellence and foster a positive work environment for the crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Shift: Keep the crew motivated, organised and having fun, especially when things get busy.
  • Coach & Support: Help crew members build their skills and confidence while working together to deliver great service.
  • Drive Results: Help the team achieve key KPIs, including speed, service and sales targets.
  • Keep Standards High: Lead by example and make sure food safety, cleanliness, product quality and GYG standards are always on point.
  • Be a Team Player: Jump in wherever you're needed, support the team and help keep the shift running smoothly.

 

What You Bring

  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience supervising or leading a team in a fast-paced hospitality, café, restaurant or retail environment.
  • High Energy: A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to stay calm and upbeat when things get busy.
  • People Skills: You enjoy working with people, communicating clearly and helping others succeed.
  • Culture Fit: A genuine passion for great food, teamwork and fast-paced fun.
  • Availability: Availability to work a mix of mornings, nights and weekends is required.
