Job Description:

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Weekend day call requirements

Shift: 8AM - 8:30PM

Training schedule may vary from this full-time schedule

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit [Required]

  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs [Required]

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking, and a professional bedside manner [Required]

  • Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance [Required]

  • EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) [Required]

  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]

  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]

  • EPIC [Preferred]


Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]


Work Experience:

  • 1+ years Cath Lab OR Emergency Room OR ICU OR PACU experience [Required]
