About this role

This job is a dual role, with a seasonal component and an off-season component:


Responsibilities In-Season: As the team’s Certified Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for the comprehensive healthcare needs of our players, including:

Prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Daily athletic training room operations.
Emergency medical care during practices and games.
Coordination of player medical records and injury documentation.
Communication with team physicians, specialists, and healthcare providers.
Development and implementation of rehabilitation programs.
Injury prevention initiatives and player wellness education.
Preparation of players for practices and games, including taping, bracing, stretching, and therapeutic modalities.
Travel with the team for all regular season, preseason, and postseason games.
Management and inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
Compliance with all league medical protocols and policies.
Collaboration with hockey operations staff to support player performance and availability.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to support the success of the ECHL team.



Responsibilities Off-Season: 

You will be responsible for the triaging of clinical questions, assistance with patient scripts, calling in approved patient refills, the initial review of diagnostic imaging and lab reports, and returning calls to patients with clinical questions under the close direct supervision of a PBSO Doctor. You will work side-by-side with one of our doctors to provide quality patient care.  You will have the opportunity to work up new patients individually, then help to create a plan of care in collaboration with a doctor.  Your work week will consist of 24 hours per week.
