Job Description

The Chief Engineer responsible for all working matters under the operations and maintenance of building systems at CMI’s customer site in Des Moines, Iowa.

Key Job Functions

  • Act as the onsite first-line Supervisor to O&M staff
  • Responsible for the building’s systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and supervision of technicians.
  • Performs Preventive Maintenance tasks involving keeping equipment in good working order to reduce downtime and prevent breakdowns.
  • Shall be onsite in a full-time capacity and on-call to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in supervising and directing building operations and maintenance of equipment for a singular federal facility of at least 500,000 square feet.
  • Shall possess one or more of the following certifications:
    • 1. North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVAC Service Technician Certification
    • 2. HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification
    • 3. UA Star HVAC Mastery Certification
  • Must maintain a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education per year from either NATE, HVAC Excellence, or UA Star recognized provider program.
