Currently, we are bidding for Metro Rail projects across India. The position of Chief Safety Expert  is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Safety Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain the project’s Safety Management System and safety plans in accordance with statutory, contractual, and best practice standards.
  • Safety Policy & Planning: Define safety objectives, policies, and strategies for construction, operation, and maintenance phases of the metro project.
  • Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Lead hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of appropriate mitigation measures across all project activities.
  • Inspection & Compliance: Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses; analyze causes, develop corrective/preventive actions, and ensure implementation.
  • Training & Awareness: Organize and conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for project staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and test emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and crisis management strategies.
  • Subcontractor Management: Monitor and enforce safety performance of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project safety standards and procedures.
  • Safety Documentation: Prepare and review safety documents, hazard logs, safety method statements, and reports for management, authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular safety performance reports, statistics, analyses, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the focal point for all safety-related communications with clients, regulatory bodies, consultants, and independent safety assessors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion safety culture by identifying trends, learning from incidents, and promoting the adoption of best safety practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Profile/Skills

  • Graduate in Engineering with Specialization in Safety 
  • minimum 20 years of experience in railways or railway related industry.
  • minimum 5 years’ experience in urban rail based passenger carrying system
