Client Sales Trader – Liquidity Distribution
About this role
IMC is expanding how it distributes liquidity to clients and is seeking its first Client Sales Trader, primarily focused on U.S. Cash Equities. This is an opportunity to help build and shape a growing client franchise, working banks, agency brokers, wealth-management firms, and retail brokerage platforms.
This is a commercially driven, trading-adjacent role for someone with a strong understanding of equity market structure, electronic trading, and liquidity provision.
The role will focus on communicating IMC’s trading capabilities, developing compelling and mutually beneficial value propositions for clients, and helping shape the team’s commercial approach, client strategy, and operating model. Working closely with trading, monetization, onboarding, connectivity, and other teams across the firm, identifying trading opportunities, evaluating client flow, and helping refine how different client segments engage with IMC’s liquidity.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of IMC’s trading approach, liquidity offering, and market-structure edge, and clearly communicate that value proposition for our clients.
- Identify and develop new client opportunities across products and regions, with a focus on strategic fit and long-term value.
- Manage day-to-day commercial relationships with key clients and distribution partners.
- Analyze client flow and execution quality, partnering with trading, monetization, and operations teams to improve how different client segments interact with IMC’s liquidity.
Your Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in electronic trading, execution strategy, or institutional client coverage.
- Strong knowledge of electronic trading workflows, and a deep understanding of equity specific market microstructure.
- Experience analyzing liquidity and client flows, with proficiency in Python.
- Strong commercial instincts, with the credibility to engage confidently with sophisticated trading clients.
- The ability to work effectively across Trading, Development, Infrastructure, Compliance, Business Development, Onboarding, and client teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Base Salary range for the role is included below. Base salary is only one component of total compensation; all full-time, permanent positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits, including paid leave and insurance.
