Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Aide, you will transport patients to various hospital locations under the direction of the department manager and according to established policies and procedures.Every day you will deliver patient charts and tests, pick up and store supplies, and maintain noncomplex transportation-related records, including patient/material transported, arrival/departure times, and any encountered issues.To be successful in this role, you will ensure safe and efficient patient transportation and timely delivery of materials, contributing to the smooth operation of hospital services.

  • Under direction from the department manager and according to established policies and procedures, transports patients to various hospital locations.
  • Delivers patient charts, tests and so forth to appropriate locations, picks up and stores supplies, and assists in maintaining a variety of non complex transportation related records including name of patient (or material) transported, arrival and departure times, problems encountered and so forth.
  • Demonstrates ability to transport patients process so that performance objectives are met. For example, transport cycle time objectives need to be established and achieved. 
  • Demonstrates ability to receive and understand transportation assignments and to fulfill the assignment in a safe and timely manner. 
  • Under guidance of supervisor, maintains documentation of equipment including gurneys and wheel chairs. 
  • Ability to interface with key department customers with regard to their level of satisfaction with transportation services. 

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate, upon hire or
  • High School GED, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

  • Hospital experience working with patient transportation, upon hire
