About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator I to join our Columbus team. This is a hands-on role for a coordinator who can step into an active study environment, run participant visits with confidence, navigate protocols to find answers, perform essential clinical procedures, and complete study data and documentation within required timelines.

You will partner with Investigators and the broader research team to protect participant safety, maintain data quality, and deliver a positive, respectful experience for every participant. The ideal candidate is resourceful, highly organized, comfortable working independently, and skilled at building rapport with patients.

What You’ll Do

Study Visits & Participant Safety

  • Independently coordinate and conduct study visits in accordance with protocols, GCP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Protect participant safety and well-being, including timely recognition, documentation, and escalation of adverse events.
  • Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, ECGs, sample collection and processing, weight measurements, and investigational-product activities as required.
  • Build trusting relationships with participants and support continuity throughout the study lifecycle.

Recruitment, Screening & Enrollment

  • Support participant recruitment and identify potential candidates for active studies.
  • Screen participants against protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria.
  • Guide participants through informed consent and maintain complete, accurate documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate visits, follow-ups, and participant communications.

Study Execution, Data & Compliance

  • Review protocols and study resources to independently solve routine questions and determine next steps.
  • Complete source documentation, EDC entry, regulatory records, and required reports accurately and on time—including same-day data entry when required.
  • Perform quality-control checks on study data and source documents.
  • Prepare for and support monitoring visits, audits, inspections, feasibility questionnaires, pre-study visits, and site start-up activities.
  • Collaborate with Investigators, site leadership, sponsors, and colleagues to resolve issues and maintain study quality.
  • Support regulatory-file maintenance, laboratory supplies, equipment readiness, and other site needs.

What You Bring

  • At least one year of direct clinical research coordination experience, including running study visits and working from clinical trial protocols.
  • Solid, hands-on phlebotomy skills.
  • Experience using blood-pressure equipment, ECG machines, weight scales, and standard study-visit equipment.
  • Experience with participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, study documentation, and data entry.
  • Working knowledge of GCP, SOPs, participant safety, and clinical research compliance expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to consult protocols and available resources before escalating routine questions.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, prioritization, and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Warm, professional participant communication and the ability to build rapport with a diverse patient population.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health, science, or research-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

This position is onsite in Columbus, Monday through Friday, with standard hours of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The posted salary range is $50,000–$52,000 annually; final compensation will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
