CNC Machinist
About this role
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on CNC Technician to join our Development Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in manufacturing precision components used in assembly automation systems, tooling modifications, and continuous improvement projects across the company.
This is a hands-on position ideally suited to an individual who enjoys precision machining, problem-solving, and contributing directly to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes. The role operates on a 2-shift rotation basis.
Key Responsibilities
• Manufacture precision components for assembly automation systems, fixtures, machine upgrades, and tooling projects.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
• Generate and optimize machining programs using CAM software, preferably Edgecam.
• Manufacture EDM electrodes for mould insert repair and modification activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure parts are produced to specification and tolerance requirements.
• Perform machine set-ups, tooling selection, and process optimization to maximize efficiency and quality.
• Inspect completed components using appropriate measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Support automation and engineering projects by producing prototype and production-ready components.
• Assist in troubleshooting and implementing improvements to existing production equipment and tooling.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment within the Toolroom and Manufacturing areas.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Automation, Tooling, Production, and Quality teams.
We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual with a strong machining background and a passion for producing high-quality precision components.
Requirements
• Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience operating and programming CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
• Experience using CAM software, preferably Edgecam.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, materials, and tolerancing.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work on a 2-shift rotation basis.
