About this role

Overview:

We're hiring a hands-on CNC Programmer & Machinist for our precision machining and tooling facility outside of Louisville, KY.

Alongside the parts we're known for providing the machining industry, this site machines large-format dies and equipment for the extrusion industry, holding tight tolerances on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes.

We're looking for a machinist who came up on the shop floor, has deep hands-on experience, and has learned true CNC programming along the way. You'll write and edit programs in NX, including full 5-axis mill programming, then head to the floor to prove them out yourself. You'll still run setups, in-process inspections, and program adjustments daily.

This is work for advanced hands-on machinists with the programming skill to build the process from the ground up.

Why Join Us

  • Advanced Machines: Run and program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes daily.
  • Real Ownership: Program it, prove it out, and see it through
  • Clean Shop: Temperature-controlled, organized work environment.

Compensation

  • $33 – $34 / hr to start

Shift

  • 1st shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Programming: Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs in NX, including 5-axis mill programs.
  • Program Validation: Prove out your own programs at the machine, and partner with machinists to ensure programs run reliably in production.
  • Setups: Set up, operate, and maintain multiple CNC mills and lathes.
  • Blueprints: Interpret complex prints, GD&T specs, and work instructions.
  • Inspection: Verify tight tolerances with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Program Adjustments: Dial in cycles and cutting parameters to keep processes on spec.
  • Tooling Maintenance: Maintain and resurface tooling used in your machines.
  • Troubleshooting: Solve complex problems, pulling in technical experts as needed.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Extensive hands-on CNC machining experience (milling, turning, and/or grinding)
  • Proven CNC programming experience earned on the shop floor
  • Proficiency programming in NX (CAM)
  • Ability to program 5-axis mills
  • Experience proving out and validating your own programs at the machine
  • Solid grasp of tooling, feeds, and speeds
  • Experience running machine setups
  • Reads engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience verifying tight tolerances with inspection tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Experience programming large-format or die/mold work
  • Aerospace, medical device, or defense background
  • Other precision manufacturing industry experience
