About this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machines as per SOP, work instructions, and process parameters.
- Set and adjust machine parameters such as speed, feed, pressure, temperature, etc., as applicable.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring instruments.
- Maintain required dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Identify and report machine abnormalities, defects, and process deviations.
- Perform basic machine cleaning, lubrication, and autonomous maintenance activities.
- Follow 5S standards and maintain a clean and organized workplace.
- Achieve daily/shift-wise production targets while maintaining quality.
- Reduce machine idle time, setup time, rejection, and material wastage.
- Record production quantities, rejections, downtime, and other required data.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and EHS standards.
- Support Kaizen, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing activities.
- Coordinate with the supervisor, quality, maintenance, and other departments for smooth production.
- Properly hand over machine/process status to the next shift operator.
Required Skills/experience:
- Basic knowledge of machine operation and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read drawings and work instructions.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier calliper, micrometre, height gauge, etc.
- Basic problem-solving and defect identification skills.
- Understanding of 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and Lean manufacturing is an advantage.
- Good discipline, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-2 years of experience in a CNC machine shop
