Code Enforcement Officer
About this role
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the practices and procedures related to property maintenance and the skill and ability to interact with the public in a manner that promotes the City's goal of reducing blight while maintaining respect for property owners and tenants. Individuals will conduct indoor and outdoor field investigations; inspect properties for violations; issue and post warning notices, notices of violations, corrective notices, and orders to comply; while performing a variety of field and office work to support and comply with City regulations and ordinances.
Individuals must have a High School Diploma or Equivalency and a valid state drivers' license. Certification as a Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector through the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) is preferred, and required within six (6) months of appointment.
