Commercial Manager (Sales / Food / Beverages / FMCG) - Suriname
About this role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead our client's Sales, Marketing, Retail and Export activities.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an FMCG professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on commercial execution. Reporting directly to the Director, you will shape the commercial agenda and translate the company’s ambitions into profitable, sustainable growth.
As Commercial Manager, you will connect customer and consumer insights with pricing, portfolio development, distribution and route-to-market decisions. You will strengthen relationships with customers and channel partners, improve the use of commercial and financial information, and identify opportunities in the wider region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting and executing the commercial strategy across Sales, Marketing, Retail and Export
- Driving revenue growth, profitability and market development
- Developing pricing, portfolio and route-to-market strategies
- Strengthening key-account, retail, distributor and channel relationships
- Improving commercial planning, forecasting and performance reporting
- Identifying new customer, channel and regional export opportunities
- Leading and developing managers and multidisciplinary commercial teams
- Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and other business functions
- Building a culture of ownership, collaboration and customer focus
Requirements
You are an experienced commercial leader from FMCG, food, beverages, consumer goods or another distribution-intensive sector. You have worked across both Sales and Marketing and can demonstrate a meaningful contribution to revenue growth, profitability and improved commercial performance.
You will ideally bring:
- Substantial senior commercial management experience
- Experience leading managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of pricing, customer development and route-to-market
- Experience with key accounts, retail, distributors, franchise channels, export or multi-market operations
- The ability to turn market and financial information into clear commercial decisions
- A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Professional fluency in English; other regional languages of the Caribbean are an advantage
- Willingness to travel regionally when required
