About this role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and driven Compliance Manager to join our Home and Community Maintenance team here at Freebridge Community Housing, taking operational responsibility for the delivery of a comprehensive asset compliance service across our housing and communal properties. As a subject matter expert, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of mechanical and electrical works, asbestos, water hygiene, lifting operations and equipment, damp, mould and disrepair and fire management support - working closely with the Head of Assets to develop and implement compliance strategy and ensuring all contracts are procured and delivered in line with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Outline of key responsibilities...

  • Contribute to the formulation and delivery of corporate and asset strategies, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations and that strategic targets are met
  • Lead the operational delivery of the compliance service across all FCH housing and communal assets, including mechanical and electrical servicing, asbestos, water hygiene, lifting operations, CDM, fire support and damp, mould and disrepair
  • Manage a team of specialist staff across mechanical, electrical and compliance disciplines, ensuring all team members have the capabilities and support required to effectively discharge their roles and responsibilities
  • Lead on the development and operational delivery of a new strategic approach to damp, mould and disrepair, including contract management and service improvement
  • Oversee the implementation and development of a new compliance management system and associated technology, including homes technology, to support effective and transparent service delivery
  • Assist with horizon scanning and the development of service plans to ensure the compliance service meets current and future statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements
  • Ensure the operational implementation of all related strategies, policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements at all times

We are looking for someone who has...

  • An HND in Building Construction, Building Surveying or a related subject, alongside a certified BS7671 2018 qualification and either a NEBOSH or IOSH General Certificate - or demonstrable equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Significant and demonstrable knowledge of statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements in relation to asset compliance, health and safety, building construction and regulations, and mechanical and electrical works
  • Demonstrable knowledge of risk assessment principles and significant experience of working within a risk-based service area in social housing or a related sector
  • Significant experience of managing an asset compliance and mechanical and electrical service area within a highly regulated environment, with a strong track record of delivering compliant, high-quality services
  • Proven experience of procuring, mobilising and managing multiple contracts within a contract management framework, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Significant experience of setting, producing and analysing compliance data and Key Performance Information, with the ability to produce clear assurance reports and translate findings into meaningful recommendations and service improvements
  • A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle, as the role requires travel across FCH properties and other locations as needed
