ROLE SUMMARY

Under the leadership of the Global Business controller, we are hiring a Controllership Lead Manager in China to lead wing to wing Finance operations including finance operations, Monthly, quarterly and yearly Finance Closing and Reporting, Banking/Treasury and cash management, Controllership, payroll support including compliance, execution of transfer pricing, Statutory audit and compliance with Tax in China for the Chinese  legal entity and it’s branches. This role is critical to Velotic as it grows in the region.

The China Lead Controllership Manager, at Velotic, will primarily be responsible 1) To own finance process delivery for China legal entity adhering to SLAs defined by the US/Global Finance and Controllership teams – quality, accuracy & timeliness of output  (2) effective coordination with cross functional groups of Controllership, FP&A, and Operational Finance to identify and resolve closing & reporting, business process, and performance challenges faced in China (3) driving continuous process improvements to reduce our closing and reporting cycle time & improve quality of closing processes and (4) partnering with FP&A and Finance teams in improving analytical capabilities through systemic and process improvements 5) Stat reporting and Stat Compliance: closely aligning team and priorities on both USGAAP and Stat reporting 6) Assist with ERP implementation and ERP improvement opportunities 7) Manage all aspects of transfer pricing, payroll accounting and payroll compliance matters for the China entity with support and close coordination from third parties 8) Ensure local compliance for finance regulatory matters

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own wing to wing Finance matters for the China Legal entity of Velotic. Work with senior leadership in the country to setup and improve operational processes, ensure local regulatory compliance including statutory audits, and indirect taxes compliance working with third parties.
  • Ensure development and sustenance of Financial reporting for timely delivery of reporting and analytics to US/Global Finance and business leadership. Reports include but not limited to financial statements, FP&A/ management reporting and operational finance, standard and Adhoc analysis for FP&A and operational finance.
  • Support external and internal audits and any Stat / Tax support as needed, drive process improvements on Stat.
  • Identify process gaps, waste, and defects to continuously improve operational processes.
  • Ensure timely, and accurate preparation/completion of activities required for quarter-end and month-end closing and year end.
  • Develop and improve processes around balance sheet visibility to detect material matters, drive 100% reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis, as defined by US Controllership leadership, escalate material matters to Controllership and FP&A leadership for resolution.
  • Understand Velotic Policies and ensure that all accounting processes are in line with Velotic regulations and principles, and confidentiality is respected in data handling when working with personal data and/or sensitive data
  • Develop close partnership in China between Controllership and FP&A teams to mutually leverage and benefit Income Statement and Balance sheet to each other’s benefit.
  • Support ERP implementation, own and deliver on ERP improvement projects
  • Support Global Controller / CFO / FP&A executive in ad-hoc projects from time to time
  • Opportunity to take on more responsibility for the company as it expands and hashes out its finance support strategy for all the Velotic legal entities and Financial processes across the globe.
  • Attend government statistics reporting trainings and ensure timely submission of various government statistic reports on a quarterly, monthly and annual basis.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite
  • Demonstratable experience in holding people accountable for results and holding self-accountable and on integrity.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or equivalent experience, China CPA preferred.
  • Big 4 experience is a plus along with experience of US companies with China legal entities
  • 10-15 years of experience working in diversified finance roles covering Controllership, FP&A, and Operational finance. Treasury and tax experience will be a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with ERP implementations
  • Experience with interacting and staying ahead on matters with local government bodies for Tax and local regulatory compliance
