Controls Engineer
At Novva, Controls Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving control and monitoring systems that support critical data center operations. This role works closely with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable facility automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, configure, and maintain DDC and PLC control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving electrical, mechanical, and automated control systems.
- Develop and optimize monitoring, automation, and reporting solutions.
- Review and interpret engineering documentation, electrical schematics, and control drawings.
- Support commissioning, testing, and deployment of control system upgrades and new installations.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and construction teams to improve system performance and reliability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Novva facilities.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with DDC controls and building automation systems.
- Strong understanding of programming logic, algorithm design, and DDC and/or PLC programming.
- Experience designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical and electrical control systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and their practical applications.
- Experience with automation, monitoring, and control platforms and software.
- Ability to read and understand engineering documentation, standard operating procedures, electrical diagrams, and schematics.
- Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure, systems, and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Niagara 4 Certification.
- Experience working in mission-critical facilities or data center environments.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and integration of building management systems.
