Corporate Accountant I

Gilbane is seeking a Corporate Accountant I to support senior level accountants and managers with administrative, bookkeeping, clerical, and other responsibilities of the accounting department that include, but are not limited to, preparing & recording entries, completing account analysis as part of the preparation of account reconciliations, and completing assigned tasks to meet the department's financial reporting deadlines. This role will sit in the Providence office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for general ledger account analysis and reconciliation using accounting software and systems, including bank statements, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Researching and correcting account discrepancies
• Prepare and record general ledger entries as needed
• Generate internal invoices to be sent to subsidiaries and other related parties
• Communicate with business partners and different departments in the organization to resolve and clarify issues related to accounting policies and procedures
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Associates Degree in Accounting or other related Business Degree
• 0-3 years relevant experience
• Or equivalent or combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong math and data-entry skills
• Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and standards
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Providence, RI this ranges from $59,000.00-$71,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
