Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to provide individualized therapy services that support resident goals and promote functional independence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments according to established plans of care
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing effective treatment programs
  • Deliver individualized and group therapy interventions based on resident needs and goals
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate outcomes with the Occupational Therapist and care team
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to promote independence after discharge
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming therapy environment
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and department goals
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain clinical competency

What We're Looking For

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for helping residents achieve meaningful functional goals
  • Ability to work collaboratively with therapists, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
