As Country Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of finance operations for a key country, partnering with senior leaders to drive performance, support business growth and ensure strong financial governance. Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial activities and operations for the country, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements across different European jurisdictions within and adjacent to the EU.
General Ledger Management:
- Manage the country's general ledger accounting processes in multiple currencies, including month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of general ledger transactions and balances in Oracle Fusion or E-Business Suite (EBS).
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements for the country.
- Coordinate with local finance teams and external service providers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across different jurisdictions.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the country's budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with business unit leaders and finance teams to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
- Monitor budget variances, analyze financial performance, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
Tax Compliance and Planning:
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and requirements, including VAT, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and other indirect taxes.
- Partner with tax advisors and consultants to optimize tax planning strategies and minimize tax risks within the country.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial processes and transactions to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local management, business unit leaders, external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on financial matters impacting the country.
Individual Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Significant experience in finance and accounting roles, with significant experience in country finance management and multi-currency general ledger management.
- Expertise in Oracle Fusion or E-Business Suite (EBS) financial modules, including general ledger, sub-ledger accounting, financial reporting, and multi-currency functionality.
- Thorough understanding of financial reporting requirements, accounting standards, and tax regulations across different European jurisdictions within and adjacent to the EU.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and develop a diverse finance team.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Finance) or professional certification (e.g., CFA, ACCA).
- Experience in the technology, manufacturing, or multinational industries.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations, international tax planning, and cross-border transactions.
- Fluency in the local language(s) of the country and proficiency in English.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, system implementations, or ERP enhancements.
