Creative Director

About the Role

Sohlat is looking for an experienced and highly creative Creative Director to lead the agency's creative vision and oversee the development of impactful campaigns, brand identities, and digital creative work for clients across the Saudi market.

This is a senior leadership role for someone with deep experience in the Saudi advertising and marketing agency environment. The ideal candidate combines strong creative thinking with strategic business understanding and has a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary creative teams while managing multiple client accounts.

The Creative Director will work closely with Content, Design, Social Media, Performance Marketing, Account Management, and senior leadership to ensure every creative output is strategically strong, culturally relevant, and aligned with client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership

• Define and lead the overall creative direction across client accounts and campaigns.
• Turn client briefs and marketing objectives into strong creative concepts and campaign ideas.
• Maintain high creative standards across all agency deliverables.
• Review and approve creative concepts, designs, copy, videos, presentations, and campaign materials before client delivery.
• Ensure creative work is relevant to the Saudi market, culture, consumer behavior, and current trends.

Campaign & Brand Development

• Lead the creative development of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, paid advertising, influencer marketing, and offline channels when required.
• Develop creative concepts for product launches, seasonal campaigns, Saudi occasions, and major brand activations.
• Lead branding and visual identity projects from concept through final execution.
• Ensure consistency of brand identity, tone of voice, and creative direction across different platforms.
• Translate business and marketing strategies into compelling visual and communication concepts.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the agency's creative team, including Art Directors, Designers, Content Creators, Copywriters, and other creative talent.
• Provide clear creative direction, constructive feedback, and quality control.
• Build efficient creative processes and workflows to improve quality and delivery speed.
• Support recruitment and development of creative talent as the agency grows.
• Create a collaborative environment where teams can generate and challenge ideas.

Client & Account Management

• Participate in key client meetings, presentations, brainstorming sessions, and pitches.
• Present and confidently defend creative concepts to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Understand client businesses, competitors, target audiences, and commercial objectives.
• Partner with Account Management teams to translate client requirements into strong creative solutions.
• Support new-business pitches and contribute creative concepts that help the agency win new accounts.

Performance & Digital Collaboration

• Work closely with Performance Marketing and Media Buying teams to develop creative assets that support campaign performance.
• Use campaign insights and performance data to continuously improve creative output.
• Understand how creative decisions impact metrics such as engagement, CTR, conversions, ROAS, leads, and sales.
• Collaborate with social media and content teams to ensure creative concepts are adaptable across different digital platforms.

Minimum 8 years of professional experience working specifically within marketing, advertising, or creative agencies in Saudi Arabia (KSA) – mandatory.

Strong knowledge of the Saudi market, brands, consumer behavior, culture, and advertising landscape.

Previous experience in a senior creative position such as Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, Senior Art Director, or Head of Creative.

Proven experience managing creative teams within an agency environment.

Strong portfolio demonstrating integrated campaigns, branding, digital campaigns, social media, and advertising work.

Proven experience handling multiple clients and industries simultaneously.

Strong experience developing creative concepts from initial brief through final execution.

Experience presenting creative ideas directly to clients and senior decision-makers.

Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, paid advertising, and content marketing.

Experience working closely with Account Management, Performance Marketing, Media Buying, and Content teams.

Excellent understanding of Arabic creative communication and Saudi cultural nuances.

Strong communication and presentation skills in Arabic and English.

Ability to work in a fast-paced agency environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
