We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Full-Time Custodian at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library!  As a Full-Time Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our public library spaces. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for both customers and staff. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Checks buildings and grounds for safety hazards.
  • Maintains floors, including stairs and halls, by vacuuming, sweeping, waxing, buffing and mopping.
  • Does routine cleaning of offices, public areas, rest rooms and staff lounge, dusting, polishing, emptying wastebaskets, sorting recyclables and removing trash and recyclables.
  • Assists with general groundskeeping work: weeding, raking, irrigation, snow and ice removal and washing windows.
  • Performs special tasks which may involve heavy lifting and moving of furniture and equipment, such as setting up meeting room, moving file cabinets, assembling of furniture, etc.
  • May drive the library van on a scheduled delivery route to each branch library. 
  • Unloads and loads materials and equipment.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent.  Valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record as shown by a motor vehicle report from the BMV.  Willingness to learn and follow cleaning and maintenance procedures.  Some light maintenance skills highly desirable.  Position is subject to pre-employment, post-accident and random drug/alcohol screening.


This is a full-time position, scheduled for 40 hours/week.  Work schedule will include some evenings and weekends.  Please refer to the Core Competencies for Library Staff on the library’s website, www.wtcpl.org.
