The Deputy Center Director is responsible for ensuring students receive the education, training, guidance, and support necessary to make meaningful progress, successfully complete the Job Corps program, and transition intoย quality full-time employment, higher education, or advanced training.

๐ŸŒฑ This position plays a critical role in achieving positive student outcomes and maintaining a Center culture focused onย accountability, achievement, personal growth, and career success.

The Deputy Center Director has overall responsibility for student outcomes related to appearance, conduct, behavior, language, and statistical program achievement. This position also ensures the strict confidentiality of sensitive information and the accuracy and integrity of student data.

โญย The Deputy Center Director may serve as Acting Center Director in the absence of the Center Director.

๐Ÿงญ What You'll Do

As theย Deputy Center Director, you will provide strategic leadership, program oversight, and accountability across key education and career development functions.

๐Ÿ“š Lead Education & Career Development

  • ๐ŸŽ“ Ensure approved curricula are effectively taught in all academic and vocational classrooms.
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Provide direct oversight and overall management of the Center's Academic Program, including staffing, personnel matters, TABE compliance, high school credential attainment, math and reading improvement, driver education, and OMS outcomes.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Provide oversight of Career Services and Student Support functions and related outreach and placement outcomes.
  • ๐ŸŒŸ Ensure students have access to meaningful Career Success Skills, Personal and Youth Development, and Work-Based Learning opportunities.
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Ensure high-quality PYD and CSS programming is an integral part of Center life, particularly within Career Services and Education program areas.
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Oversee training activities provided at off-center sites, including training quality assurance, safety standards, and related concerns.
  • ๐Ÿ“‹ Administer training subcontracts as required.

โค๏ธ Champion Student Success

  • ๐ŸŽฏ Monitor student progress, retention, completion, and career transition outcomes.
  • ๐Ÿ“ˆ Monitor implementation of Career Services and Education initiatives and measure achievements against established objectives.
  • ๐Ÿ”„ Identify areas for improvement and direct modifications to plans when conditions or program needs change.
  • ๐ŸŒฑ Promote a positive, structured, and student-centered environment that encourages achievement and personal responsibility.
  • ๐Ÿš€ Help ensure students are prepared for successful employment, higher education, or advanced training.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Lead & Develop Staff

  • โœ… Ensure Career Services and Education staff adhere to theย Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), corporate policies, contractual requirements, U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) policies, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • ๐ŸŽ“ Ensure staff are trained on new Job Corps programs and applicable revisions to DOL-approved SOPs.
  • ๐Ÿค Participate in the staff selection process, including conducting final interviews with candidates recommended for hire by the Area Manager.
  • ๐Ÿ’ช Provide leadership, direction, accountability, and support to staff across assigned program areas.

๐ŸŒŽ Build Partnerships & Career Opportunities

  • ๐Ÿค Engage community stakeholders to ensure program areas and systems meet Job Corps and WIOA requirements.
  • ๐Ÿข Develop and maintain productive relationships with employers, governmental entities, labor unions, military recruiters, advanced training programs, community colleges, and other community partners.
  • ๐Ÿ”— Help strengthen pathways that connect students to employment, education, training, and long-term career opportunities.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Ensure Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • โœ”๏ธ Ensure program areas and systems comply with the Center contract, DOL directives and guidelines, program manuals, SOPs, company standards, and related requirements.
  • ๐Ÿ“ข Maintain a quality communication system for reviewing and disseminating key correspondence from corporate, Job Corps Regional, and National Offices to students and staff, as appropriate.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Prepare and monitor functional department budgets.
  • ๐Ÿ“ Ensure all required reports and plans are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • ๐Ÿ” Protect the confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of student information and program data.

๐ŸŽ“ Minimum Qualifications

  • ๐ŸŽ“ย Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฅย Two (2) years of leadership experience with direct reports.
  • ๐Ÿ“šย Two (2) years of experience in Academics, Career Technical Training, education, or a related field.
  • โญย Job Corps experience preferred.
