Job Description

MISSION: 

As a direct report to and working closely with the Country Manager on a day-to-day basis and closely with Project Management Team. The Development Manager will coordinate and ensure success of wind, solar and storage project development from origination until full permitting and project financing is successfully completed 

The Development Manager will focus on solar, wind and storage development, however depending on the specific opportunities available from time to time, projects development opportunities utilizing other technologies may be undertaken. 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DELIVERABLES: 

  1. Manage utility scale solar, wind and storage projects; 

  1. Secure new opportunities and oversee negotiations (with landowners, on PPA and all asset agreements); 

  1. Establish, monitor and update business plans, development budgets and schedules; 

  1. Coordinate and oversee all necessary works to the obtention of the main authorizations (grid, environmental…) for all permits requested by the local regulation to execute the projects; 

  1. Community engagement, public meeting, public presentations; 

  1. Working knowledge of the local development process and the electric regulations; 

  1. Develop and sustain excellent relations with local institutions; 

  1. If required, to take the role of Legal Representative of the projects SPV’s 

  1. Contribute to the improvement process of internal development tools; 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATION :  

  1. Engineer or Master’s degree with preference orientation on Electric,  Electro-Mechanic, Industrial or energy background. 

  1. A minimum of 5-7 years of energy development experience, preferably in renewables. 

  1. An extended knowledge of the development process and its relevant institutions (CEN, CNE, SEC, etc) in the country. 

  1. An extended knowledge on public and private PPA market. 

PERSONAL SKILLS :  

  1. Dynamism and autonomy 

  1. Proven ability to work collaboratively within and to manage multidisciplinary teams 

  1. Proven track record in project management in a fast-paced environment 

  1. Articulate and able to assist in management, client, and public presentations 

  1. Willing and able to travel on a monthly basis 

SOFTWARE SKILLS (appreciated but not essential) :  

  1. Experienced user of PVsyst, pvDesign, OpenWind or similar industry software 

  1. Prove Familiar with GIS 

  1. Proficiency with the Google and Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) 

  1. Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software 

LANGUAGES : 

Spanish and English – Fluent 

French would be a plus
