About this role

Summary: design, implement and optimize diagnostic systems for L4-ready EV architectures.


Key Responsibilities:


Diagnostics Development and UDS Implementation:

Develop and maintain diagnostic systems for in-vehicle and connected diagnostics, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 14229 (UDS protocol).

Design and implement diagnostic routines for ECUs across the vehicle network

Define and configure Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) protocols for vehicle ECUs, ensuring robust diagnostic communication and troubleshooting capabilities.

Validate UDS protocol implementations using simulation and physical test environments.


Vehicle Network Design:

Collaborate on the design and integration of vehicle networks, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and FlexRay protocols, for seamless communication and diagnostics.

Ensure compatibility of diagnostics with the overall vehicle architecture.


Connected Diagnostics:

Develop and support over-the-air (OTA) diagnostic and software update capabilities, ensuring security and scalability.

Work closely with the cloud team to integrate vehicle diagnostics with connected services.


Testing and Validation:

Perform in-vehicle and bench testing to validate diagnostic systems and protocols.

Use hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments for diagnostic testing.


Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to meet diagnostic requirements.

Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including diagnostic trouble code (DTC) matrices and repair strategies.

 

Qualifications


Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

 

Experience:

3+ years of experience in vehicle diagnostics, automotive networking, or related roles. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the UDS protocol (ISO 14229).

 

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay).

Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, and Diagnostic Development Environment (DDE).

Familiarity with diagnostic standards, including ISO 15765, ISO 14229, and SAE J1939.

Experience with HIL/SIL setups for testing and validation.
