Job Summary

Manages the financial aid programs and processes, keeping with the service orientation of the College. Serves as the contact for employees, students, and their families with educational and informational needs regarding the financial aid process. Maintains and administers federal, state, and institutional student financial aid funds.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience required.

Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership for an effective financial aid program to include developing policies and procedures, interpreting and implementing federal and state regulations and criteria, supervising the processing cycle, maintaining the net price calculator, and staying current on financial aid software.

  • Awards financial aid packages, monitors changes that require packaging adjustments, and ensures that all paperwork presented to students is accurate, complete, and returned on time.

  • Counsels prospects, students, and family regarding financial aid through participation in open houses, and advising on criteria for awards.

  • Supervises the Federal work study program to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and that funds are used effectively.

  • Supervises the Federal Loan program including verification of loan status, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective use of funds.

  • Leads and provides information for financial aid audits and creates and implements action plans for any recommendations.

  • Defines employee roles, responsibilities and job descriptions. Conducts annual performance evaluations and awards merit increases.

Physical Requirements

  • Work normally performed in a typical interior office environment.

  • Extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, and stretching; as well as frequent movement throughout the College and agency campuses.

  • Visual and auditory within normal lines or corrected.

  • Occasional driving to other locations.

  • Travel and overnight stays associated with College business.
