Job Description:

The Director, Product Management, Clinicals, is responsible for leading and developing product managers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth. This role drives the strategy, delivery, and success of the Clinical Content portfolio by partnering closely with clinical, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify needs, solve complex challenges, and deliver high-value solutions. The Director ensures effective product management through agile practices, strategic prioritization, and outcome-driven execution, while translating clinical and market needs into scalable solutions, and AI-enabled capabilities. They collaborate with cross-functional partners across marketing, sales, services, finance, legal, privacy, compliance, regulatory affairs, and government affairs to mitigate risk and ensure products align with healthcare regulations, industry standards, and organizational objectives. Success in this role requires deep expertise in clinical content, healthcare trends, and emerging technologies, with a strong focus on delivering measurable value and advancing long-term portfolio growth.

  • Manage, coach, and direct product managers to develop their skills, helping remove barriers to their success, and ultimately coaching them to become more successful in their roles.
  • Align assigned product teams to support and ensure success for a broader patient experience.
  • Partner with stakeholder groups on understanding the problems to solve and working with your product team (Product Designer, Engineering Lead, Delivery Manager – and your support team) to solve and resolve issues and concerns related to product viability and success.
  • Run and oversee sprint planning, sprint grooming, backlog management, and ticket triage in Jira.
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as marketing, sales, services, finance, legal, privacy, compliance, regulatory affairs, and government affairs to mitigate risk in all areas to ensure products are developed and implemented that align with the healthcare/patient industry and organizational standards and principles.
  • Collaborate with product teams to discover effective solutions and deliver those solutions to the market.
  • Work closely with clinical teams to understand their needs and pain points, translating these into actionable product features for AI applications in healthcare.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and software developers to ensure AI solutions are tailored to address clinical challenges effective.
  • Conduct collaborative problem-solving sessions to understand how to inspire your product team members and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Align and drive Product Strategy to meet organizational and portfolio strategic and business objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective and successful Product Management measured by outcomes, not outputs. Ensure identified problems solved are quantified; and solutions quantify the degree to which the product management team has solved the problem.
  • Attain and maintain a deep understanding of your product/solution “space” or market including but not limited to market trends, consumer trends, competitive analysis, and new entrants.
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
     

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
     

Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of successful management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience working on “technology-powered products” as either a product manager, designer, engineer, analyst, or implementer/trainer.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager with the ability to speak to your measurable successes.
  • Experience within an Ambulatory Healthcare environment which can be attained through a variety of different positions such as office manager, medical assistant, or systems analyst.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required equivalent qualifications for the position.
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of: Software development; “modern product” discovery techniques – and of agile product development; Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Skill in: Thought leader, mentor and coaching skills; analytical, data-driven problem solver approach using data to form ideas/solutions; executive level communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to: Partner with cross-functional teams employing the ability to speak IT, support, sales, marketing, and engineering language; Employ many different Product Discovery Techniques; problem solve (complex problems, many variables, many constraints) while also constantly assessing risk and the ability to articulate your ideas in writing; apply strong and sound judgement to mitigate risk and make timely decisions from both business and technical perspectives based on data analytics.
