PositionĀ Overview:Ā
The Director of Clinical OperationsĀ provides leadership and oversight of psychiatry and therapy service lines across assigned community health center(s)Ā and partnerships. This role is accountable for operational execution,Ā clinical program oversight, contract performance, and partner engagement while ensuring scalable systems that support organizational growth. As a clinical leader, the DirectorĀ fostersĀ high-quality care delivery across assigned site(s)Ā and collaborates with the Clinical Education & Excellence Department, CMO, and CCO,Ā to align training, standards, and program development.Ā This role reports to the COO.Ā Ā
Key Areas of Ownership:Ā Ā
Clinical & Program LeadershipĀ
- Provide direct leadership and oversight for psychiatry,Ā therapy, and support (MA,Ā BHTĀ etc.)Ā service lines at assigned CHCs.Ā
- Ensure evidence-based practices and clinical standards are consistently applied.Ā
- Collaborate with the Clinical Education & Excellence teamĀ (including CMO and CCO)Ā to align training, quality improvement, and staff development initiatives.Ā
- Support clinical managers in handling escalations and building effective leadership capacity.Ā
- Provide direct patient careĀ withinĀ licensureĀ scopeĀ (~10-15Ā hrsĀ per week, asĀ determinedĀ by organizational needs).Ā
Operational ExcellenceĀ
- Monitor and drive productivity, slotĀ utilization, and workflow efficiency across assigned CHCs.Ā
- Standardize processes and deploy best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.Ā
- Act as the EMR expert for assigned systems, ensuring properĀ training,Ā utilization, reporting, and data integrity.Ā
- Establish accountability structures for managers and clinicians to achieve defined performance goals.Ā
- Report on operational outcomes, productivity metrics, and contract performance to senior leadership.Ā
- Support CHC compliance requirements, including provider credentialing, onboarding, and regulatory alignment.Ā
Integration & Strategic GrowthĀ
- Facilitate partner meetings to align expectations, strengthen relationships, and drive contract success.Ā
- IdentifyĀ opportunities for program expansion and growth within existing partnerships.Ā
- Partner with leaders across Ascend to ensure business continuity and support organizational growth.Ā
- In collaboration with the implementation team, lead the clinical and operational launch of new CHC partnerships as assigned.Ā
- Support budget planning and contract strategy development.Ā

Qualifications:Ā Ā
- Board CertifiedĀ and Independently Licensed asĀ a:Ā Ā
- Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Must have 2+ years of Psychiatry/ Behavioral Health experienceĀ
- Active, unrestrictedĀ clinicalĀ licenseĀ in state of primary residence and state of medical services being provided- Arizona StateĀ requiredĀ
- Must haveĀ demonstratedĀ leadership experience overseeing clinical operations and staff management.Ā
- ExperienceĀ in EMR systems, data-driven reporting, and workflow optimization.Ā
- Experience working with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) -Ā preferredĀ

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm AZ time
Base Comp: $185,000-$195,000
