Blair Animal Clinic & Klondike Kennels is looking for a Daycare & Playgroup Monitor to join the team at Klondike Canine Academy, the behavior and training branch of our practice. If you love spending time with dogs, helping them thrive, and creating positive experiences in a safe and engaging environment, this could be the perfect fit for you.

In this role, you’ll oversee off-leash playgroups and daycare sessions while helping each dog have a safe, active, and enjoyable experience. Forget boring office meetings — your day may include belly rubs, fetch, tail wags, and helping dogs build confidence through structured play.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise playgroups and daycare sessions to ensure a safe and positive experience
  • Monitor canine behavior and report changes or concerns to leadership
  • Engage with pet parents and provide updates on their dog’s progress
  • Help dogs stay active through guided play sessions
  • Clean and set up play areas and kennel runs
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Safely handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments
  • Support a clean, organized, and positive daycare environment

What Our Daycare & Playgroup Monitors Bring

  • Previous dog care experience preferred, such as dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare, boarding kennel, or veterinary assistant experience
  • Strong desire to learn about canine behavior
  • Confidence walking and handling large dogs over 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors, even when the weather is not ideal
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, school breaks, and holidays
  • Genuine love for pets and willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
