🏗️ Job Description: Drafter / BIM Modeler (NYC Construction Safety Plans)

Position Overview We are seeking a detail‑oriented Drafter / BIM Modeler to support construction projects in New York City. The role focuses on preparing site safety plans, construction drawings, and BIM models in compliance with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical drafting skills, proficiency in CAD/BIM software, and experience producing safety documentation for complex urban construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update site safety plans, layouts, and construction drawings for NYC projects.
• Create and manage BIM models to support project coordination and compliance.
• Ensure all drawings meet NYC DOB codes, safety regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, safety officers, and engineers to integrate safety measures into design documents.
• Conduct drawing reviews, revisions, and quality checks to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain organized documentation and version control for all project drawings and models.
• Provide technical support during project planning, permitting, and execution phases.

✅ Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in drafting or BIM modeling, preferably in NYC construction projects.
• Prior experience preparing safety plans and compliance drawings for urban construction sites.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
• Strong knowledge of NYC DOB safety codes, zoning, and construction regulations.
• Ability to produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models.
• Familiarity with site logistics planning, safety signage, and compliance documentation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation.
