Our drivers operate community-owned vehicles to provide authorized transportation for residents and partners. This position exists in order to enhance the lives and nurture the growth of older persons by providing high-quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to attain goals. This is a PRN (work as needed) position, and the days and hours will vary. It is a great job for retirees and those looking for some extra spending money!
 
Currently looking for someone who is interested in a PRN position, the ideal candidate would be in about a 20-minute drive of the Granville campus.  The hours vary and can generally offer 10 - 20 hours/week, with occasional evening/night and weekend trips. The greatest need is for Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Operates small and medium size cars, 14 passenger non-CDL shuttle bus, or our wheelchair accessible van to transport passengers to planned outings or medical visits
  • Inspects, services and cleans vehicles
  • Interacts positively with residents, family members, visitors, and other partners under a variety of conditions and circumstances
  • Pumps gasoline and diesel fuel, checks oil, water and other fluid levels, provides routine under the hood service inspections

Qualifications

  • Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Licensure/Certification: Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must have a driving record that would be insurable under Otterbein's liability insurance.
  • Experience: Prefer related driving experience. Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus. 

  • Skills: Ability to do pre-trip inspection of vehicle; ability to communicate courteously and effectively with residents and other partners required; ability to find locations using standard and/or electronic road maps as well as written and verbal directions
